Writer-Director Christopher Ortega founded Ortega Cinema with the desire to merge his love for innovation, science and history with his passion for storytelling and the African diaspora.
Ortega most recently directed and produced the magical realism short film about lucid dreaming called Oneironaut executive produced by and starring Brandon P. Bell from the Netflix series Dear White People.
After studying Finance at Morehouse College (2013) and Film & Television Production at USC School of Cinematic Arts (2017) he was awarded the Edward Troutner Scholarship for exemplary accomplishments in Cinematography.
His award winning Afro-futuristic Sci-fi short film Prototype has played in nine festivals around North America winning the Atlanta Sci-Fi Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best Live Action Short-film in 2018.
